7/22/2023 The 2nd Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Party of LIYD held at the Waterview in Port Jefferson.
The 2nd Anniversary Party was attended by around 140 people, including the Town of Brookhaven District One Councilman Jonathan Kornreich. The party began with the National Anthem, sung by Angelina and accompanied by David Wu. Dr. Yanping Yu, President of LIYD, delivered opening remarks, including an acknowledgment of the seniors who contributed to this organization and would now be moving on to college. Ms. Lin Guan presented PVSA awards to Angelina Zhang, Kevin Dong, and Julia Hou (gold awards), and Alexander Huang and Jason Lu (bronze awards). Brief speeches were given by club leaders about the upcoming clubs in the 2023-24 school year, and Letters of Honor were granted to new co-leaders of clubs. Ms. Lin Guan delivered closing remarks.
7/24/2022 The 1st Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Party of LIYD is held in New Village Recreation Center, Centereach, NY.
About 150 people attend this event, including Mr. Steven C. Englebright, the Assembly member for the 4th District of the New York Assembly, Mrs. Kara Hahn, Suffolk County legislator, and Mr. Johnathan Kornreich, Brookhaven Town Councilman. This event started with national anthem sung by Angelina Zhang and accompanied by David Wu. Dr. Yanping Yu, President of LIYD delivered opening remarks. Mr. Steven C. Englebright, Mrs. Kara Hahn and Mr. Johnathan Kornreich made speeches in our event and handed certificates to recognize our LIYD youth leaders’ contributions and services to our community. All club leaders made short presentations about their achievements and future plans. During the party, Dr. Yu also presented PVSA certificates to Luke Hou, Jason Liu, Eric Wang (all Bronze Awards) and David Wu (Gold Award). Music club organized a mini-concert and Baking and Cooking club made desserts for this party. Ava Della Pietra sang a song that she wrote by herself. This whole event was hosted by Angelina Zhang and Julia Hou. There was also a Traditional Chinese Watercolor Painting Fundraising event during LIYD Anniversary Party.
